Welcome to this blog. This blog has been conceptualised to work towards a local history workshop in Gurgaon. The idea for this workshop arose out of visits to the Regional Repository of the Haryana archives at Gurgaon. The archivist Mrs. Mridula Bhargava was keen that the archives receive publicity through exhibitions and involvement of students and teachers. This blog is an attempt to build towards that enthusiasm. Subsequently a meeting was held with the officials of the Haryana archives , teachers and resource persons to discuss the ways and means of involving a larger community of scholars, students and enthusiasts in the workshop. Hi, I am Shamsher Singh Gulia. I have been at IGNOU as a student and a teacher fellow.Presently I am teaching at Govt. College, Sector-9, Gurgaon.I have taken my students to an exhibition organised at the Gurgaon repository.It is well maintained and has the potential for research and highlighting of the local history of this area.I am looking forward to further development of this workshop.
